Setting up the Master site |
|
|
Now that Multi User has been switched on you need to set up the system. This is generally an automated process.
Once you restart the system the following message will appear:
This is now going to start the process of defining the machine and how it interacts with others.
The first time you go through this process you will be setting up the Master machine. Here we recommend you follow our advice using naming conventions we find work best.
Identify this machine
The machines will be identified using a 4 character code. Please refer to the Structure Diagrams for details. So for the MASTER machine only you will enter the site reference as B000 (B + 3 zeros).
You have now identified the machine and now need to identify how that relates to it's immediate neighbour. Again see the Structure Diagrams if you are not sure.
Identify who this machine reports to
You will now see another message appear which is asking who the Parent Site is.
Pressing Yes reveals the next window. If this machine is the overall Master user, then this will be your machine (B000), otherwise enter the site reference ID of the master machine above you. i.e. if you are B100 then your Parent Site is B000. If you are B112 then the Parent is B110.
You have now set up the machine and your information will now go through the modification process. |
