SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is not normally required for sending email.
However some ISP's do require this to be set up. In these circumstances the setup can be quite challenging. We have found that GMail in particular can be difficult (please click here for more)
When SSL is required you will need to check the SSL box above. Use TLS only if requested.
We normally recommend that the twin Don't Verify check boxes ARE checked and the CAR Root file is NOT provided. This should satisfy most ISP's.
However, if you get probably error code -68 requesting a CA Root File then you should uncheck the Do Not Verify boxes and select the CA Root file we provide. This is called "CA_Roots.pem". If there is still an issue then you will need to contact your ISP and request them to provide you with their own ".pem" file. You should then save that somewhere and select that accordingly. |
